The real origin of “My Way”



The worldwide known Frank Sinatra’s song was transformed into “My Way” after has been originally sang by a French singer, Claude François with the title "Comme d'habitude". Ten years after the Sinatra’s successful releasing The Sex Pistols played a punk version for “My Way”.

Paul Anka was the responsible for the English and most heard version of this song. After a travel to France and the negotiation of the rights, Anka re-wrote the original as "My Way" for Frank Sinatra.
Although had not reached more than the #27 place in the US charts, it was an overwhelming hit in the U.K., staying in the Top 50 an unprecedented 122 weeks.
